Easter Sunday Walk

It was a beautiful morning.
Great day for a walk.
Joan and I met and walked and talked for a few miles ... then I dropped her off and continued on.  I took lots of pictures of flowers and water scenes ... but I love this picture of the egret (is that what this is?)
...
As I was rounding the water, I said hello to a group of walkers and one asked "Is that a pink ribbon on your shirt?"  They are training for the Avon 2-day in October.  I told them I did the 2-day once and that first day was a killer!!! One of the walkers said "What's 26 miles?  You walk slow and you eat, eat, eat! I've done it so many times, I intend to walk in heels this year!!!"  I'm telling you folks ... 26 miles in a day is a lot!
She invited me to join them but I was near the end of my walk.  I wish I had taken her name ... looked like a fun group.
...
Here's a lovely house decorated for Easter.
I hope you have a beautiful holiday.

Tugging along

I was going to join my training group (Burt's Babes) this morning ... but the walk in the city was canceled due to rain!  It's the 3rd training walk I've missed!
I have been walking around Port, though.  The tugboat pictured is at Louie's.  It was a cold, gray day when I passed by.  Will we ever have spring???
Joan and I took a nice walk through Sands Point.  It was good to walk part of my old route.
I think my walks were much longer at this point last year.

Joan, Tracy, and a walk on the High Line

I walked and walked yesterday.
I started with Joan for about 4 miles, then took the LIRR in to the city to meet Tracy.  We walked the High Line ... something I have wanted to do for a while.
"The High Line was built in the 30s, as part of a massive public-private infrastructure project called the West Side Improvement. It lifted freight traffic 30 feet in the air, removing dangerous trains from the streets of Manhattan's largest industrial district. No trains have run on the High Line since 1980." Today it's a wonderful walk 30 feet above the streets of NYC. FUN! (I have pictures but they are refusing to load! Oh well.)
That mint pictured above came in handy on the trip home from the city.  I was feeling tired and hungry (even though I had an awesome brunch at the Moonstruck Diner with TY.) When I got back to Port, I walked home from the station (another mile or two ...)
It was a busy day ... and my dogs were sore this morning ... but ...
It was worth it!

Taking the kids for a walk

I have never used my phone to blog ... But lately I haven't used my computer to blog, either ... So let's see what happens! I have started walking again ... I even bought new shoes ... So I am on my way friends! Speaking of "on my way"... I am on my way to the BIG city to walk around some more (Joan and I walked 4 miles this morning before I hopped on the LIRR). I Hope this makes sense. I can't see the screen. This could be a ridiculous "first" for me!!
