My Breast Cancer 3-Day Walker Handbook 2009 reminds me that "it's very important to stretch before, during and after training walks in order to avoid injury."
I promise to start stretching ... but I have to tell you ... I don't enjoy it.
Have a look at page 35.
I have a lot of trouble doing the "Quadriceps Stretch."
You might remember the following picture of me doing the Quadriceps Stretch with Beth on our first walk.
My handbook also says: "Only stretch within your limits. If you feel any discomfort, stop."Do you see the look on my face?
and don't bounce, smooth and easy, that's the ticket!

Hi Roberta! Just catching up on your blog and checking in. Congrats on the Komen ambassadorship, but I gotta tell ya, you were an ambassador before they asked you, at least for me! :o) Hope all is well!

Meowm says she can do a purrty good quadricep stretch on one leg...but not so good on the other. She wishes she could stretch like us cats do!
ReplyDeleteHi, Roberta ... Just checking in. Jeter said you're in Florida taking care of your mom. I hope she is doing well and you are getting a little relaxation while you're there. I've never been to Florida, but what I've seen of it looks beautiful. Having been born and raised in Hawai'i, I love the ocean.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Trudy
